What My Momma Taught Me was shown at Reed College, Portland, OR, August 2013.
What My Momma Taught Me, an investigation of personal narrative created through free-writing and ongoing discussions of gendered burdens, weaves together the stories of three generations of women. The piece explores the ever-evolving relationships between mothers and daughters over time, and the changes those relationships undergo as we move, as women, into adulthood.
Choreography and Performance: Alanna Hoyman-Browe, Simone Wood, and Olivia Jensen.
Support for What My Momma Taught Me was provided by Reed College. Special thanks to Carla Mann and the Reed Dance Department.
